Brief History and Prospects Ahead

GISM is the brainchild of Professor Dr. G. G. Senaratne, who now heads the campus as the Precedent. He, together with a number of local and international academics has set up GISM in Sri Lanka with the intention of creating a hub where knowledge, creativity and opportunities would be copious catering to student’s needs.

GISM campus is initially intended for a dedicated research facility for postgraduate studies which has also now developed to encompass the undergraduate degree and diploma programmes.

In recognition of the GISM’s high calibre academic staff and their lofty intentions, Massey, premier university in New Zealand had partnered with GISM, together promoting education, research and other academic ventures. 

Now, there are a variety of study programmes offered through GISM’s four Faculties, Engineering & Technology, Business & Management, Languages & Humanities and Applied Sciences.

With the backing of its local and international partnerships, its academic and corporate members and the lofty intentions for the cause of education, GISM is spearheading to be the Knowledge Hub in Sri Lanka.
