Research and Consultation Centre

GISM Research Centre is where local and foreign academics, intellectuals, experts, professionals and students alike can come together to explore their mutual interests in all aspects of research. The centre acts as a central hub which connects knowledge, expertise and resources.  

We have a number of active research programmes which are conducted on and off the campus by GISM academic staff and research fellows. With its modern infrastructure, facilities, staff and partnerships with other research institutes we are well suited to undertake most of local and foreign research assignments.

We are blessed with such attitude towards active academic exploration where our students will receive the most updated knowledge and a chance to put their theoretical knowledge into practice. 

 

How our students will benefit?

GISM research centre takes partnership with a number of local and international institutions and the industries. The research will be carried out mostly by our students, both in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. They may be exposed to these projects as part of their assignments, course projects and lab work. Selected projects will be supervised jointly by our local and foreign faculty staff in the highest level.

This sort of exposure to hands-on real world research projects, our students will not only receive the cutting-edge knowledge, but also the competency and the confidence to tackle the demands when they step into the industry as fresh graduates.

	We are proud to have a centre dedicated to conducting Research and Consultation. We understand the need of offering a University curriculum in conjunction with research. At the time when Sri Lanka is finally starting to emerge out of its past setbacks due to the war and spear-heading development. Naturally, we come to grips with numerous difficulties we are faced with. The ability to solve our industrial, engineering, corporate, social and environmental issues is essential in order to realize the country's ambition for development. Thus, the newer generation is faced with a challenge to change our attitude towards research – a capability and a confidence to advance in creativity and innovation. At the GISM Research and Consultation Centre, various topics of matter will be subjected to analysis, and obliged on producing solutions. Furthermore, our students will not only get a valuable qualification, but also a first-hand experience in tackling our problems with-in.
